SVS began by selling cylindrical subwoofers - a sonotube with a driver and a plate amplifier - direct to home-cinema enthusiasts at output levels no conventional box at the price could reach. It has since become a full-range brand, but subwoofers remain the core, and the direct model with a 45-day trial and free return shipping is central to how it competes.
