About Devialet

Devialet built its first products around ADH, a topology that uses a small Class A amplifier to set the voltage and Class D amplifiers to supply the current, aiming to keep Class A behaviour with Class D efficiency. The Phantom, an egg-shaped sealed active speaker with opposed drivers that visibly pump, took the same engineering to a mass audience and became the product most people know the brand by.

Calmel invented the ADH hybrid amplification the company was built around.
