About Arendal Sound

Arendal Sound was started in 2015 by Jan Ove Lassesen in the harbour town of Arendal in southern Norway. The first 1723 Series was built for THX Ultra home theatre and sold only through the company's own site, with the trial period and warranty doing the job a dealer demonstration would. The 1961 Series of 2020 brought the prices down, the 1528 Series of 2024 is the flagship, and the 1610 Series of February 2026 carries the 1528 driver thinking into a lower-priced three-way range. Every model ships with a full set of CEA-2034 measurements on its product page, which is still rare.

A Norwegian electronics engineer, born in Arendal in 1978, who ran the hi-fi retailer L-Sound from 2005 before starting his own speaker brand.

The company is open about building in China and about its measurements, and sells with all-inclusive pricing that covers shipping, tax and duty in the US, the EU, the UK and several other markets. Its forum presence and 60-day audition have given it a loyal home theatre following out of proportion to its size.
