About Schiit Audio

Schiit was founded in 2010 by two industry veterans on a simple structural argument: build in the United States, sell only from your own site, and the money that would have gone to distributor and dealer margin can go into the product instead. The company also publishes far more about its own manufacturing and thinking than the industry norm, including a book-length account of its first years.

Stoddard came from Sumo, Moffat founded Theta Digital. Both had long careers before starting a company with a deliberately rude name.
