How much power do these have?

The 68 Power Amplifiers listed here run from 10 to 1170 watts RMS into 8 ohms, with a median of 193 watts. For most rooms and most speakers the median is already more than enough - doubling the watts buys about 3dB, which is a small step in loudness. Sensitivity and impedance decide more than the number on the box.

What do they cost?

Currently $90 to $25,000, with a median of $4,000. Prices are the current asking price we hold, not a sale price, and they change - check the retailer before deciding.

Do I need a preamplifier as well?

Yes, unless the source can control volume itself. A power amplifier has no volume control and no input selection. A preamplifier, or a streamer or DAC with a variable output, has to sit in front of it.

How many take balanced XLR inputs?

42 of the 68 here have a balanced XLR input, which is worth having on a long cable run between preamp and power amp.
