About Accuphase

Accuphase was founded in 1972 as Kensonic Laboratory by Jiro and Sohachiro Kasuga, who had earlier built Trio - the company the world came to know as Kenwood. The brand name became the company name in 1982. The approach has not moved since: a narrow range, built in Japan, revised slowly, with parts support offered for decades after a model leaves the catalogue. That last point is the reason used Accuphase holds value the way it does.

The Kasuga family had already founded Trio, the company that became Kenwood. Accuphase was the second act: a deliberately small, deliberately expensive house with no mass-market line to protect.

Notable models: E-series integrated amplifiers, C-2900 preamplifier, A-class monoblocks.
