About MISSION

Mission was founded in 1977 by Farad Azima and quickly became one of the most visible British speaker brands of the 1980s. Its signature was inverting the usual driver order, putting the tweeter under the woofer so that, with the speaker on a stand and the listener seated, the path lengths from the two drivers to the ear arrive better aligned. Mission also spawned Cyrus, its electronics arm, whose half-width Cyrus One amplifier became a classic in its own right. The 770 was reissued in 2023.

An Iranian-born engineer who later founded NXT, the flat-panel distributed-mode loudspeaker company.
