About Mackie

Mackie made its name with compact mixing desks that put usable preamps and equalisation at a price project studios could reach, and the same argument carried into powered monitors and PA speakers. Its consumer-adjacent monitors are pro-audio products that home listeners adopted, not the other way round.

Mackie had earlier co-founded TAPCO, another Washington-state pro-audio company.
