About Marshall

Jim Marshall built his first amplifiers in 1962 for the guitarists who came into his London shop, and the Marshall stack became the sound of 1960s and 70s rock. Home audio began in 2010 when Zound Industries in Stockholm licensed the name for headphones and then speakers styled like the amplifiers; Zound and Marshall combined in 2023. The Heston soundbars, launched in 2025, were the brand's first TV speakers.

A drummer and drum teacher whose London music shop started building guitar amplifiers for customers including Pete Townshend.

Consumer audio was made under licence by Zound Industries of Stockholm from 2010; the two merged as Marshall Group in 2023. Guitar amplifiers are still made in Bletchley, England.

Notable models: Acton, Stanmore and Woburn speakers, Major headphones, Heston soundbars.
