MoFi Distribution has unveiled the MoFi Electronics SourcePoint 888 (Official Product Page) floor-standing loudspeaker, an extension of their successful loudspeaker series designed by renowned designer Andrew Jones, joining the two previous stand-mount models: MoFi SourcePoint 8 and MoFi SourcePoint 10.

This new has a Frequency Response of 32Hz-30kHz, and it introduces three 8-inch drivers (two newly developed 8-inch woofers alongside the refined concentric driver configuration), enhancing the original SourcePoint 8 with two additional woofers for better bass and dynamic range. The three-way crossover frequencies are set at 130Hz and 1.6kHz so the woofers focus on frequencies below 130Hz, optimizing the concentric driver for midrange and treble, which enhances sonic clarity.

The SourcePoint 888 features dual opposing neodymium magnets and operates in a rigid, individually isolated chamber to reduce resonance. It offers bi-wire and bi-amp connectivity through high-quality binding posts. According to Andrew Jones, the aim of the SourcePoint 888 is to elevate the sound quality of the SourcePoint 8 to new heights, utilizing a rear-ported floor-standing cabinet to house the three drivers.
