Balanced connections

Parasound Halo HINT 6 has balanced XLR connections and Parasound NewClassic 200 Integrated does not. A balanced cable carries the signal twice, on two conductors of opposite polarity. Interference picked up along the way lands on both equally and cancels when the two are recombined at the far end, so the longer the cable run and the noisier the surroundings, the more it is worth. Whether it also yields more power depends on how the amplifier is built inside - some are balanced end to end, others convert to single-ended internally and deliver the same either way.

Verdict

Different price classes - Parasound Halo HINT 6 costs roughly 2.3x what Parasound NewClassic 200 Integrated does. Expect it to lead on paper; the question is whether you will hear the difference through the speakers you own.

AreaBetterWhy
PowerAParasound Halo HINT 6 has more power - 160W against 125W into 8 ohms. That is about 1.1dB, which is a small step in loudness but real headroom on peaks.
Room sizedependsWe rate Parasound Halo HINT 6 the better fit for a very large room, and Parasound NewClassic 200 Integrated for desk or near-field listening, a small room and a mid-size room. Match the amplifier to the room you actually have, not the one you want.
Grip on hard loadsAParasound Halo HINT 6 holds up better into a 4-ohm load: its output increases strongly to 240W, where the other barely increases. That matters with demanding speakers far more than the 8-ohm figure does.
Noise floorAParasound Halo HINT 6 is the quieter design on paper - 103dB against 100dB. Audible mainly with sensitive speakers in a quiet room.
Built-in DACABoth decode on board. Parasound Halo HINT 6 goes higher - 384kHz against 192kHz. Very few recordings exist above 192kHz, so treat this as headroom, not as sound quality.
Analogue inputsAParasound Halo HINT 6 takes more analogue sources - 8 against 4.
Room to growevenly matchedThe same expansion options on both.
Amplifier classdependsParasound Halo HINT 6 is Class A/AB and Parasound NewClassic 200 Integrated is Class D. Class D runs cool and draws almost nothing at idle. Modern examples of both measure well - judge by the rest of the page.
PriceBParasound NewClassic 200 Integrated costs less - $1,399 against $3,199 at list.
Watts per dollarBParasound NewClassic 200 Integrated is the cheaper watt - about $11 per watt against $20. A blunt measure, and it says nothing about how either sounds, but it is the honest one for raw output.

A Parasound Halo HINT 6  B Parasound NewClassic 200 Integrated
depends neither is better in the abstract - it turns on your room, your system or how you will use them. Only specs published for both amplifiers are judged; anything missing on either side is left out rather than guessed.

Which should you choose?

The usual trade-off: Parasound Halo HINT 6 measures better, Parasound NewClassic 200 Integrated costs about 56% less. With most speakers in most rooms that gap is smaller in practice than it looks here. If your speakers are a difficult load - 4 ohms nominal, big woofers, or a sensitivity in the low 80s - Parasound Halo HINT 6 is the safer partner, because how an amplifier behaves when the impedance drops matters more than its 8-ohm rating. Think about the whole system: the roughly $1,800 saved by taking the cheaper one would buy better speakers or a subwoofer, which does more for the sound than the difference between two competent amplifiers.

What a spec sheet cannot show: how either sounds with your speakers, how the controls feel day to day, and what the app is like to live with - which is where most all-in-one amplifiers are actually won or lost. Power figures are the manufacturers' own and are not measured to a common standard, so treat small differences as noise. If you can hear both, that will tell you more than any row above.
