Balanced connections

Advance Paris A12 Classic has balanced XLR connections and NAD C316BEE V2 does not. A balanced cable carries the signal twice, on two conductors of opposite polarity. Interference picked up along the way lands on both equally and cancels when the two are recombined at the far end, so the longer the cable run and the noisier the surroundings, the more it is worth. Whether it also yields more power depends on how the amplifier is built inside - some are balanced end to end, others convert to single-ended internally and deliver the same either way.

Verdict

A valve amplifier against a solid-state one. They are not really rivals: they differ in character, in what they will drive and in what owning them involves, so start there rather than with the watts.

AreaBetterWhy
PowerBAdvance Paris A12 Classic has more power - 190W against 40W into 8 ohms. That is about 6.8dB - a different class of amplifier rather than a bigger version of the same one, and far more than most rooms will ever ask for.
Grip on hard loadsBAdvance Paris A12 Classic holds up better into a 4-ohm load: its output increases modestly to 280W, where the other barely increases. That matters with demanding speakers far more than the 8-ohm figure does.
Noise floorBAdvance Paris A12 Classic is the quieter design on paper - 100dB against 95dB. Audible mainly with sensitive speakers in a quiet room.
Built-in DACBAdvance Paris A12 Classic has a DAC on board; the other needs an external one, which is another box, another power lead and another purchase.
Use with a TVdependsOnly Advance Paris A12 Classic has HDMI, so the television can drive it directly and one remote controls the volume. If the system is for music only, this changes nothing.
Room to growBOnly Advance Paris A12 Classic offers preamp outputs and a pre-out/main-in loop - which decides whether you can add a subwoofer or a power amplifier later without replacing the box.
Amplifier typedependsNAD C316BEE V2 is Solid State and Advance Paris A12 Classic is Hybrid. Valve designs are usually warmer and softer at the limits and need their tubes replaced eventually; solid state is the lower-maintenance choice. This is a taste and ownership decision, not a quality one.
Shelf spacedependsNAD C316BEE V2 takes up about 39% less shelf area (1253cm² against 2043cm²), and it is 185mm shallower, which is the measurement that decides whether a rack door shuts.
PriceANAD C316BEE V2 costs less - $499 against $4,499 at list.
Watts per dollarANAD C316BEE V2 is the cheaper watt - about $12 per watt against $24. A blunt measure, and it says nothing about how either sounds, but it is the honest one for raw output.

A NAD C316BEE V2  B Advance Paris A12 Classic
depends neither is better in the abstract - it turns on your room, your system or how you will use them. Only specs published for both amplifiers are judged; anything missing on either side is left out rather than guessed.

Which should you choose?

The usual trade-off: Advance Paris A12 Classic measures better, NAD C316BEE V2 costs about 89% less. With most speakers in most rooms that gap is smaller in practice than it looks here. If your speakers are a difficult load - 4 ohms nominal, big woofers, or a sensitivity in the low 80s - Advance Paris A12 Classic is the safer partner, because how an amplifier behaves when the impedance drops matters more than its 8-ohm rating. Start with the room. In a large or open-plan room, or with speakers that are hard to drive - low sensitivity, or an impedance that dips - Advance Paris A12 Classic has the headroom, and headroom is what stops an amplifier hardening up on peaks. At desk distance or in a small room, 40 watts is already more than most people ever use, and the extra 150 watts would be headroom you pay for and never hear.

What a spec sheet cannot show: how either sounds with your speakers, how the controls feel day to day, and what the app is like to live with - which is where most all-in-one amplifiers are actually won or lost. Power figures are the manufacturers' own and are not measured to a common standard, so treat small differences as noise. If you can hear both, that will tell you more than any row above.
