One scale for both, aligned at the back panels the way they would sit against a wall, so the deeper one visibly stands further out.

Advance Paris A12 Classic needs about 214% more shelf area. Advance Paris A12 Classic is 177mm deeper - the measurement that decides whether a rack door closes. Advance Paris A12 Classic is 98mm taller.

Inputs and Outputs

Balanced connections

Advance Paris A12 Classic has balanced XLR connections and NAD C 700 does not. A balanced cable carries the signal twice, on two conductors of opposite polarity. Interference picked up along the way lands on both equally and cancels when the two are recombined at the far end, so the longer the cable run and the noisier the surroundings, the more it is worth. Whether it also yields more power depends on how the amplifier is built inside - some are balanced end to end, others convert to single-ended internally and deliver the same either way.

Verdict

A valve amplifier against a solid-state one. They are not really rivals: they differ in character, in what they will drive and in what owning them involves, so start there rather than with the watts.

AreaBetterWhy
PowerAAdvance Paris A12 Classic has more power - 190W against 80W into 8 ohms. That is about 3.8dB, so it plays usefully louder before it runs out and has more in hand on peaks.
Grip on hard loadsAAdvance Paris A12 Classic holds up better into a 4-ohm load: its output increases modestly to 280W, where the other barely increases. That matters with demanding speakers far more than the 8-ohm figure does.
Noise floorAAdvance Paris A12 Classic is the quieter design on paper - 100dB against 84dB. Audible mainly with sensitive speakers in a quiet room.
Built-in DACBBoth decode on board, but only NAD C 700 handles MQA.
StreamingBOnly NAD C 700 has AirPlay 2, Roon and BluOS.
Phono stagedependsAdvance Paris A12 Classic has a built-in phono stage and NAD C 700 does not. Decisive if you own a turntable, completely irrelevant if you do not - and an outboard phono stage is easy to add later either way.
Room to growAOnly Advance Paris A12 Classic offers a pre-out/main-in loop - which decides whether you can add a subwoofer or a power amplifier later without replacing the box.
HeadphonesdependsOnly Advance Paris A12 Classic has a headphone output. Worth something if you listen late, nothing if you never do.
Amplifier typedependsAdvance Paris A12 Classic is Hybrid and NAD C 700 is Solid State. Valve designs are usually warmer and softer at the limits and need their tubes replaced eventually; solid state is the lower-maintenance choice. This is a taste and ownership decision, not a quality one.
Shelf spacedependsNAD C 700 takes up about 68% less shelf area (651cm² against 2043cm²), and it is 177mm shallower, which is the measurement that decides whether a rack door shuts.
PriceBNAD C 700 costs less - $1,599 against $4,499 at list.

A Advance Paris A12 Classic  B NAD C 700
depends neither is better in the abstract - it turns on your room, your system or how you will use them. Only specs published for both amplifiers are judged; anything missing on either side is left out rather than guessed.

Which should you choose?

The usual trade-off: Advance Paris A12 Classic measures better, NAD C 700 costs about 64% less. With most speakers in most rooms that gap is smaller in practice than it looks here. If your speakers are a difficult load - 4 ohms nominal, big woofers, or a sensitivity in the low 80s - Advance Paris A12 Classic is the safer partner, because how an amplifier behaves when the impedance drops matters more than its 8-ohm rating. Start with the room. In a large or open-plan room, or with speakers that are hard to drive - low sensitivity, or an impedance that dips - Advance Paris A12 Classic has the headroom, and headroom is what stops an amplifier hardening up on peaks. At desk distance or in a small room, 80 watts is already more than most people ever use, and the extra 110 watts would be headroom you pay for and never hear.

What a spec sheet cannot show: how either sounds with your speakers, how the controls feel day to day, and what the app is like to live with - which is where most all-in-one amplifiers are actually won or lost. Power figures are the manufacturers' own and are not measured to a common standard, so treat small differences as noise. If you can hear both, that will tell you more than any row above.
