UK Hi-Fi manufacturer Wharfedale has unveiled the Wharfedale SUPER LINTON, a 3-way standmount passive loudspeaker that updates the popular LINTON Heritage (2019) model. While the Super Linton maintains the same 3-way driver configuration as its predecessor, it boasts several enhancements in the drivers, cabinet design, and crossover, which Wharfedale asserts significantly elevate its performance.
However, these upgrades have not dramatically altered the frequency range. The Super Linton offers a frequency response of 39-20k Hz, only 1 Hz deeper in the bass than the Linton's 40-20k Hz—an improvement that may be negligible even to trained listeners.
The Linton Super is 4cm / 1.6" taller than the Linton 2019.
Price and Availability
The Wharfedale SUPER LINTON will be available starting in mid-November 2024, and priced at $2,499 per pair without stands, and MSRP of $2,799 per pair with the stands. The Linton stands are compatible with the Linton Super as both speakers have the same same base dimensions. The 2019 edition Linton remains available at $1,799 per pair with stands and $1,499 without.
