Drivers

One of the fundamental differences between these two speakers is that SourcePoint 888 is a 3-way design whereas the SourcePoint V10 is a 2-way speaker. 3-way designs utilize a midrange driver in addition to the tweeter and woofer on 2-way designs. Designing a crossover for a 3-way speaker is a complicated process and generally increases the overall cost of the speaker.

SourcePoint 888 features a 1.25" wide roll soft dome Tweeter, a 8" Midrange and 2 x 8" Paper-pulp Woofer with a Crossover frequency at 130Hz and 1.6kHz . On the other hand, the SourcePoint V10 features a 1.25" Soft-Dome Tweeter and 2 x 10" Paper Pulp Woofer.

The usual trade-off: MoFi SourcePoint V10 measures better, MoFi SourcePoint 888 costs about about 60% more% less.
