La Scala AL6 features a 1" polyimide diaphragm compression horn-loaded Tweeter, a 3" Midrange and 1 x 12" fiber-composite cone with folded horn Woofer with a Crossover frequency at 425Hz - 2900Hz. On the other hand, the Cornwall IV features a 1" titanium-diaphragm compression horn-loaded Tweeter, a 1.75" Midrange and 1 x 15" Fiber composite Woofer.
Frequency Response
La Scala AL6 has a frequency range of 40-19k Hz whereas Cornwall IV has a frequency range of 34-20k Hz. With a minimum frequency of 34Hz, the Cornwall IV can go significantly deeper on the low side and provide stronger bass compared to the La Scala AL6's min frequency of 40Hz.
The graph below depicts how these two speakers compare with the max, min and average Low Frequency values of other speakers in the Floor-standing class in our database.
Low Frequency
Floor-standing Speakers
Neither pair reaches down to 20Hz, the usual definition of full-range, which is normal for speakers of this size. If you want the bottom octave for movies or bass-heavy music, add a subwoofer to whichever you choose. Visit our Powered Subwoofers section to find out more about the available options.
Impedance and Sensitivity
La Scala AL6 and Cornwall IV have the same Impedance of 8 ohms but where they differ is the sensitivity levels. La Scala AL6 sensitivity is rated at 103 dB and the Cornwall IV's is at 102 dB. This 1 dB difference makes the Klipsch La Scala AL6 a more sensitive speaker compared to Klipsch Cornwall IV, hence will play louder with the same amount of watts.

Power Range
Power
range is the range of input power in watts RMS that a loudspeaker is designed to handle. Staying
within that range gives nominal performance; driving the speaker beyond its maximum wattage can damage it.
La Scala AL6 and Cornwall IV have the same power range of up to 100 watts.
Note that higher power handling does not make a speaker louder: that depends mainly on
sensitivity and impedance. The calculator below shows how loud each of these actually plays
on a real amplifier.
Which plays louder on your amplifier?
Starting with a popular amplifier — change it to the one you own, or any you are
considering, and watch both numbers move.
Input Type and Bi-Amping / Bi-Wiring
Both La Scala AL6 and Cornwall IV features dual binding post speaker terminals for bi-amping or bi-wiring.

Physical Specs
The size of a speaker can sometimes be an important decision factor due to space constraints or in some cases purely for esthetic reasons. In this section, we are going to compare Klipsch La Scala AL6's and Klipsch Cornwall IV's external dimensions. Klipsch La Scala AL6 has external dimensions of 994 x 622 x 647mm (39/1 x 24.5 x 25.5inch) whereas Klipsch Cornwall IV has external dimensions of 966.0 x 643.0 x 394.0mm (38 x 25-5/16 x 15-1/2inch).
Klipsch Cornwall IV is 28mm shorter and 253mm less deeper than Klipsch La Scala AL6 but it is also 21mm wider.
Below you can see the front view size comparison of Klipsch La Scala AL6 and Klipsch Cornwall IV in scale.

The La Scala AL6 requires 59% more surface area than the Cornwall IV which gives it a small disadvantage on placement in tight spaces.
Weight Comparison The weight of a loudspeaker can become an important factor if you need to move and reposition the unit often. Weight of a speaker can also "sometimes" be an indicator of the rigidity of the enclosure and the quality of the internal components used. The Klipsch La Scala AL6 weighs 93.18kg / 205lbs and the Klipsch Cornwall IV weighs 44.55kg / 98lbs. This makes the La Scala AL6 109% heavier than the Cornwall IV.

Siblings in Klipsch's Heritage series, so they share a family sound. It comes down to size, output and price.
| Area | Better | Why |
| Bass |
B |
Klipsch Cornwall IV digs deeper - 34Hz against 40Hz. A subwoofer would even that out. |
| Amplifier needs |
evenly matched |
Similar sensitivity (103dB vs 102dB) - both want much the same power. |
| Headroom |
evenly matched |
Similar power handling (100W vs 100W). |
| Size |
depends |
Klipsch Cornwall IV is easier to place; Klipsch La Scala AL6 is bigger, which usually goes with fuller bass. Your room decides. |
| Expandability |
depends |
Klipsch La Scala AL6: bi-amping; Klipsch Cornwall IV: bi-amping. |
| Price |
B |
Klipsch Cornwall IV is cheaper - $6,598 against $14,998, about 56% less; arguably a different class. |
A Klipsch La Scala AL6
B Klipsch Cornwall IV
depends neither is better in the abstract - it turns on your room, placement or how you will use them.
Only specs published for both speakers are judged; anything missing on either side is left out rather than guessed.
Which should you choose?
Klipsch Cornwall IV has the edge on paper, though the margin is not large. The rows marked "depends" may matter more to you than the score does. If a subwoofer is in your plans, the bass gap largely stops mattering - you would be crossing over above 40Hz anyway, so judge these on the other rows instead. In a large or open-plan room, Klipsch La Scala AL6 has the cabinet volume to fill it more easily; in a small room, near a wall or at desk distance, Klipsch Cornwall IV is the easier speaker to get right.
And remember what a spec sheet cannot show: how each looks in your room and whether the finish suits it, what dealer support and warranty are like where you live, and how they actually sound to you. If you can hear them first - ideally with your own music - that will tell you more than any number above.
