Drivers
One of the fundamental differences between these two speakers is that Performa3 C208 is a 3-way design whereas the Performa3 C205 is a 2-way speaker. 3-way designs utilize a midrange driver in addition to the tweeter and woofer on 2-way designs. Designing a crossover for a 3-way speaker is a complicated process and generally increases the overall cost of the speaker.

Performa3 C208 features a 1" aluminum dome with proprietary acoustic lens and waveguide Tweeter, a 4" Midrange and 2 x 8" anodized aluminum cone with cast frames Woofer. On the other hand, the Performa3 C205 features a 1" aluminum dome with proprietary acoustic lens and waveguide Tweeter and 2 x 5.25" aluminum cone with cast frames Woofer.
Frequency Response
Performa3 C208 has a frequency range of 50Hz- 20kHz whereas Performa3 C205 has a frequency range of 80Hz- 20kHz. With a minimum frequency of 50Hz, the Performa3 C208 can go significantly deeper on the low side and provide stronger bass compared to the Performa3 C205's min frequency of 80Hz.
