Balanced connections

Advance Paris NOVA A-i190 has balanced XLR connections and Naim Uniti Star does not. A balanced cable carries the signal twice, on two conductors of opposite polarity. Interference picked up along the way lands on both equally and cancels when the two are recombined at the far end, so the longer the cable run and the noisier the surroundings, the more it is worth. Whether it also yields more power depends on how the amplifier is built inside - some are balanced end to end, others convert to single-ended internally and deliver the same either way.

Verdict

A valve amplifier against a solid-state one. They are not really rivals: they differ in character, in what they will drive and in what owning them involves, so start there rather than with the watts.

AreaBetterWhy
PowerAAdvance Paris NOVA A-i190 has more power - 185W against 70W into 8 ohms. That is about 4.2dB, so it plays usefully louder before it runs out and has more in hand on peaks.
Built-in DACBNaim Uniti Star has a DAC on board; the other needs an external one, which is another box, another power lead and another purchase.
StreamingBOnly Naim Uniti Star has AirPlay 2, Chromecast and Roon.
Phono stagedependsAdvance Paris NOVA A-i190 has a built-in phono stage and Naim Uniti Star does not. Decisive if you own a turntable, completely irrelevant if you do not - and an outboard phono stage is easy to add later either way.
Room to growAOnly Advance Paris NOVA A-i190 offers a pre-out/main-in loop - which decides whether you can add a subwoofer or a power amplifier later without replacing the box.
Built-in sourcesdependsNaim Uniti Star has a CD player built in. That is one less box if you still play discs or listen to radio, and dead weight if you do not.
Amplifier typedependsAdvance Paris NOVA A-i190 is Hybrid and Naim Uniti Star is Solid State. Valve designs are usually warmer and softer at the limits and need their tubes replaced eventually; solid state is the lower-maintenance choice. This is a taste and ownership decision, not a quality one.
Shelf spacedependsNaim Uniti Star takes up about 37% less shelf area (1371cm² against 2165cm²), and it is 187mm shallower, which is the measurement that decides whether a rack door shuts.
PriceBNaim Uniti Star costs less - $5,699 against $7,999 at list.
Watts per dollarAAdvance Paris NOVA A-i190 is the cheaper watt - about $43 per watt against $81. A blunt measure, and it says nothing about how either sounds, but it is the honest one for raw output.

A Advance Paris NOVA A-i190  B Naim Uniti Star
depends neither is better in the abstract - it turns on your room, your system or how you will use them. Only specs published for both amplifiers are judged; anything missing on either side is left out rather than guessed.

Which should you choose?

Advance Paris NOVA A-i190 is ahead, but on only 1 of the measured areas, and it costs about 40% more. That is a lot of money for a narrow margin - Naim Uniti Star is the sensible buy unless a specific feature above decides it for you. Start with the room. In a large or open-plan room, or with speakers that are hard to drive - low sensitivity, or an impedance that dips - Advance Paris NOVA A-i190 has the headroom, and headroom is what stops an amplifier hardening up on peaks. At desk distance or in a small room, 70 watts is already more than most people ever use, and the extra 115 watts would be headroom you pay for and never hear. If you play records, Advance Paris NOVA A-i190 saves you buying a phono stage; if you do not, ignore that row entirely.

What a spec sheet cannot show: how either sounds with your speakers, how the controls feel day to day, and what the app is like to live with - which is where most all-in-one amplifiers are actually won or lost. Power figures are the manufacturers' own and are not measured to a common standard, so treat small differences as noise. If you can hear both, that will tell you more than any row above.
