Drivers
One of the fundamental differences between these two speakers is that Amati is a 4-way design whereas the Amati Supreme is a 5-way speaker. 3-way designs utilize a midrange driver in addition to the tweeter and woofer on 2-way designs. Designing a crossover for a 3-way speaker is a complicated process and generally increases the overall cost of the speaker.

Amati features a 1.1" Silk Soft-Dome Tweeter, a 6" Midrange and 2 x 8.5" Paper Woofer with a Crossover frequency at 200, 270, 2200 Hz. On the other hand, the Amati Supreme features a 1.5" Silk Soft-Dome Tweeter, a 6.5" Midrange and 2 x 8.5" Paper Woofer with a Crossover frequency at 230, 300, 1800, 5600 Hz.

within that range gives nominal performance; driving the speaker beyond its maximum wattage can damage it.
Amati Supreme can handle a max power of 600 watts RMS, whereas Amati has a max power handling value of 450 watts RMS, 150 watts less than the Amati Supreme.
