AK7 features a 1" polyimide diaphragm compression Tractrix horn Tweeter , a 3" Midrange and 1 x 15" fiber-composite with a trihedral exponential folded horn Woofer with a Crossover frequency at 380Hz - 290Hz. On the other hand, the Kendall features a 1" anodized aluminum Tweeter , a 5.25" Midrange and 2 x 6.5" Woven Kevlar Woofer .

Frequency Response

AK7 has a frequency range of 34-19k Hz whereas Kendall has a frequency range of 25-23k Hz. With a minimum frequency of 25Hz, the Kendall can go significantly deeper on the low side and provide stronger bass compared to the AK7's min frequency of 34Hz.

Impedance and Sensitivity

AK7 and Kendall have the same Impedance of 8 ohms but where they differ is the sensitivity levels. AK7 sensitivity is rated at 103 dB and the Kendall's is at 96 dB. This 7 dB difference makes the Klipsch Klipschorn AK7 a more sensitive speaker compared to KLH Kendall, hence will play louder with the same amount of watts.

Power Range

Power range is the range of input power in watts RMS that a loudspeaker is designed to handle. While using an amplifier within this range ensures the nominal performance , inputting a power that is higher than the max wattage can result in a damaged speaker.

AK7 can handle a max power of 100 watts RMS from the amp the whereas Kendall has a max power handling value of watts RMS, 100 watts less than the AK7.

Keep in mind that a higher max power handling value doesn't necessarily make that a louder speaker compared to a lower max handling speaker. Loudness or the sound level is also impacted by parameters such as Impedance, sensitivity and system efficiencies.
