Ai61 features a 1" Silk Neodymium Ferrofluid Cooled Soft Dome Tweeter and 1 x 6.5" Woven, Glass Fiber Composite Woofer . On the other hand, the Ai81 features a 1" Silk Neodymium Ferrofluid Cooled Soft Dome Tweeter and 2 x 6.5" Woven, Glass Fiber Composite Woofer .
Frequency Response
Ai61 has a frequency range of 32-20k Hz whereas Ai81 has a frequency range of 30-20k Hz. With a minimum frequency of 30Hz, the Ai81 can go slightly deeper then the Ai61's min frequency of 32Hz.

Power Range
Power
range is the range of input power in watts RMS that a loudspeaker is designed to handle. While using an amplifier within this range ensures the nominal performance , inputting a power that is higher than the max wattage can result in a damaged speaker.
Ai61 can handle a max power of 150 watts RMS from the amp the whereas Ai61 has a max power handling value of 120 watts RMS , 30 watts less than the Ai81.
Keep in mind that a higher max power handling value doesn't necessarily make that a louder speaker
compared to a lower max handling speaker. Loudness or the sound level is also impacted by parameters
such as Impedance, sensitivity and system efficiencies.
Cabinet Type and Port Position
Ai61 has a rear firing port whereas Ai81 has a bottom firing ports. Fluance Ai81's bottom-firing port gives more flexibility in placement in regards to proximity to walls compared to Fluance Ai61 with its rear-firing port.
Physical Specs
Size of a speaker can sometimes become an important decision factor due to space constraints or in some cases purely for esthetic reasons. In this section, we are going to compare Fluance Ai61's and Fluance Ai81's external dimensions. Fluance Ai61 has external dimensions of 33.3 x 19.8 x 23.4 cm ( 13.1 x 7.8 x 9.2 inches) whereas Fluance Ai81 has external dimensions of 96 x 21.6 x 26 cm ( 37.8 x 8.50 x 10.24 inches) .
Fluance Ai81 is clearly the larger of the two speakers. Its body is 18mm wider, 627mm taller and 26mm deeper than Fluance Ai61.

The base surface area of the Fluance Ai61 is approximately 463.0cm2 / 71.8inch2 and base area of the Fluance Ai81 is approximately 561.0cm2 / 87.0inch2. The Ai61 requires 17% less surface area than the Ai81 which gives it a small advantage on placement in tight spaces.
