Airmotiv XB1 features a 1" Airmotiv folded ribbon Folded Motion Tweeter and 1 x 4" Woven fibre Woofer with a Crossover frequency at 2600Hz. On the other hand, the Airmotiv XB2 features a 25×32 mm" folded ribbon Tweeter and 1 x 6" woven fiber cone Woofer with a Crossover frequency at 2600Hz.
Frequency Response
Airmotiv XB1 has a frequency range of 65-27k Hz whereas Airmotiv XB2 has a frequency range of 55 Hz – 27 kHz. With a minimum frequency of 55Hz, the Airmotiv XB2 can go significantly deeper on the low side and provide stronger bass compared to the Airmotiv XB1's min frequency of 65Hz.

Impedance and Sensitivity
Airmotiv XB1 and Airmotiv XB2 have the same Impedance of 4 ohms but where they differ is the sensitivity levels. Airmotiv XB1 sensitivity is rated at 82 dB and the Airmotiv XB2's is at 86 dB. This 4 dB difference makes the Emotiva Airmotiv XB2 a more sensitive speaker compared to Emotiva Airmotiv XB1, hence will play louder with the same amount of watts.
One thing to keep in mind that the lower impedance speakers, especially the ones that are rated at 4 ohms may put more pressure on the amplifier unit comared to higher impedance speakers especially at high volume levels, so make sure the amp you pair with the Airmotiv XB1 and the Airmotiv XB1 can provide this impedance level.

Power
range is the range of input power in watts RMS that a loudspeaker is designed to handle. While using
an amplifier within this range ensures the nominal performance , inputting a power that is higher than the
max wattage can result in a damaged speaker.
Airmotiv XB1 can handle a max power of 125 watts RMS from the amp the whereas Airmotiv XB1 has a max power handling value of 120 watts RMS , 5 watts less than the Airmotiv XB2.
Keep in mind that a higher max power handling value doesn't necessarily make that a louder speaker
compared to a lower max handling speaker. Loudness or the sound level is also impacted by parameters
such as Impedance, sensitivity and system efficiencies.
Input Type and Bi-Amping / Bi-Wiring
Airmotiv XB2 features Binding post posts which make bi-amping or bi-wiring possible. Airmotiv XB1 has a Binding post which doesn't feature bi-amping/bi-wiring.

Cabinet Type and Port Position
Both Airmotiv XB1 and Airmotiv XB2 have rear firing ports. Rear ported speakers generally need more room between the backside of the speaker and the wall compared to sealed and front/bottom ported speakers. Placing the speakers too close to the walls may cause the bass to sound boomy.

Physical Specs
Size of a speaker can sometimes become an important decision factor due to space constraints or in some cases purely for esthetic reasons. In this section, we are going to compare Emotiva Airmotiv XB1's and Emotiva Airmotiv XB2's external dimensions.
