Drivers
One of the fundamental differences between these two speakers is that Focus 20 XD is a 2-way design whereas the Focus 30 is a 3-way speaker. 3-way designs utilize a midrange driver in addition to the tweeter and woofer on 2-way designs. Designing a crossover for a 3-way speaker is a complicated process and generally increases the overall cost of the speaker.

Focus 20 XD features a 1.1" Coated-Silk Soft-Dome Tweeter and 1 x 6.7" Magnesium Silicate Polymer Woofer . On the other hand, the Focus 30 features a 1.1" Cerotar Soft-Dome Tweeter , a 5.5" Midrange and 1 x 5.5" MSP Woofer with a Crossover frequency at 390 Hz - 4700 Hz.
Frequency Response
Focus 20 XD has a frequency range of 39-24k Hz whereas Focus 30 has a frequency range of 30-22k Hz. With a minimum frequency of 30Hz, the Focus 30 can go significantly deeper on the low side and provide stronger bass compared to the Focus 20 XD's min frequency of 39Hz.

Base Surface Area Comparison
Base surface area of a loudspeaker may become a determining factor when the space in your room or desk is limited.
The base surface area of the Dynaudio Focus 20 XD is approximately 611.1cm2 / 94.7inch2 and base area of the Dynaudio Focus 30 is approximately 469.8cm2 / 72.8inch2. The Focus 20 XD requires 30% more surface area than the Focus 30 which gives it a small disadvantage on placement in tight spaces.
