Emit 25C features a 1.1" Cerotar Soft-Dome Tweeter and 2 x 5.5" MSP Woofer with a Crossover frequency at (1000)/3500 Hz. On the other hand, the Emit 50 features a 1.1" Cerotar Soft-Dome Tweeter, a 6" Midrange and 2 x 7" MSP Woofer with a Crossover frequency at 540/4400 HZ.

Frequency Response

Emit 25C has a frequency range of 53-25k Hz whereas Emit 50 has a frequency range of 33-25k Hz. With a minimum frequency of 33Hz, the Emit 50 can go significantly deeper on the low side and provide stronger bass compared to the Emit 25C's min frequency of 53Hz.

Neither pair reaches down to 20Hz, the usual definition of full-range, which is normal for speakers of this size. Impedance and Sensitivity

Emit 25C and Emit 50 have the same Impedance of 4 ohms but where they differ is the sensitivity levels. Emit 25C sensitivity is rated at 87 dB and the Emit 50's is at 86 dB. This 1 dB difference makes the Dynaudio Emit 25C a more sensitive speaker compared to Dynaudio Emit 50, hence will play louder with the same amount of watts.

One thing to keep in mind that the lower impedance speakers, especially the ones that are rated at 4 ohms may put more pressure on the amplifier unit comared to higher impedance speakers especially at high volume levels, so make sure the amp you pair with the Emit 25C and the Emit 25C can provide this impedance level.

Input Type and Bi-Amping / Bi-Wiring

Emit 25C features Binding post type posts and Emit 50 has a Binding post type posts. None of these speakers feature bi-amping/bi-wiring.

Cabinet Type and Port Position

Both Emit 25C and Emit 50 have rear firing ports. Rear ported speakers generally need more room between the backside of the speaker and the wall compared to sealed and front/bottom ported speakers. Placing the speakers too close to the walls may cause the bass to sound boomy.

Which should you choose?

The usual trade-off: Dynaudio Emit 50 measures better, Dynaudio Emit 25C costs about about 2.8x the price% less. Whether that gap is worth the money is the call only you can make - and in a normal room it is often smaller than the numbers suggest.
