Borea BR02 features a 1" silk Tweeter and 1 x 5" fiberglass Woofer with a Crossover frequency at 2900Hz. On the other hand, the Borea BR04 features a 1" silk Dome Tweeter and 1 x 6" Paper Cone Woofer with a Crossover frequency at 3200Hz.

Frequency Response

Borea BR02 has a frequency range of 51 - 22k Hz whereas Borea BR04 has a frequency range of 44 - 22k Hz. With a minimum frequency of 44Hz, the Borea BR04 can go significantly deeper on the low side and provide stronger bass compared to the Borea BR02's min frequency of 51Hz.

Impedance and Sensitivity

Borea BR02 and Borea BR04 have the same Impedance of 8 ohms but where they differ is the sensitivity levels. Borea BR02 sensitivity is rated at 89 dB and the Borea BR04's is at 90 dB. This 1 dB difference makes the Triangle Borea BR04 a more sensitive speaker compared to Triangle Borea BR02, hence will play louder with the same amount of watts.

Power Range

Power range is the range of input power in watts RMS that a loudspeaker is designed to handle. While using an amplifier within this range ensures the nominal performance , inputting a power that is higher than the max wattage can result in a damaged speaker.

Borea BR02 can handle a max power of 110 watts RMS from the amp the whereas Borea BR02 has a max power handling value of 80 watts RMS , 30 watts less than the Borea BR04.

Keep in mind that a higher max power handling value doesn't necessarily make that a louder speaker compared to a lower max handling speaker. Loudness or the sound level is also impacted by parameters such as Impedance, sensitivity and system efficiencies.

Input Type and Bi-Amping / Bi-Wiring

Borea BR04 features Dual binding posts posts which make bi-amping or bi-wiring possible. Borea BR02 has a Binding post which doesn't feature bi-amping/bi-wiring.

Cabinet Type and Port Position

Borea BR02 has a rear firing port whereas Borea BR04 has a front firing ports. Triangle Borea BR04's front-firing port gives more flexibility in placement in regards to proximity to walls compared to Triangle Borea BR02 with its rear-firing port.
