Frequency Response

3030i has a frequency range of 46-30k Hz whereas S20 has a frequency range of 39-40k Hz. With a minimum frequency of 39Hz, the S20 can go significantly deeper on the low side and provide stronger bass compared to the 3030i's min frequency of 46Hz.

3030i features 5-way post type posts and S20 has a 5-way post type posts. None of these speakers feature bi-amping/bi-wiring.

Cabinet Type and Port Position

Both 3030i and S20 have rear firing ports. Rear ported speakers generally need more room between the backside of the speaker and the wall compared to sealed and front/bottom ported speakers. Placing the speakers too close to the walls may cause the bass to sound boomy.

A generation apart: Q Acoustics 3030i is the newer design, against a 2016 model. Newer is not automatically better, but the older one is more likely to be discounted or near run-out.
