Drivers

One of the fundamental differences between these two speakers is that Monitor XT90 is a 1-way design whereas the Monitor XT35 is a 2-way speaker. 3-way designs utilize a midrange driver in addition to the tweeter and woofer on 2-way designs. Designing a crossover for a 3-way speaker is a complicated process and generally increases the overall cost of the speaker.

Monitor XT90 has a frequency range of 94-22k Hz whereas Monitor XT35 has a frequency range of 57-40k Hz. With a minimum frequency of 57Hz, the Monitor XT35 can go significantly deeper on the low side and provide stronger bass compared to the Monitor XT90's min frequency of 94Hz.

Monitor XT90 and Monitor XT35 have the same Impedance of 8 ohms but where they differ is the sensitivity levels. Monitor XT90 sensitivity is rated at 89 dB and the Monitor XT35's is at 87 dB.
