Monitor XT35 features a 1" Terylene High-res dome Tweeter and 4 x 3" bi-laminate paper cone Woofer. On the other hand, the ES30 features a 1" Terylene High-res dome Tweeter and 2 x 5.5" mica-reinforced polypropylene Dynamic Balance Woofer.
Frequency Response
Monitor XT35 has a frequency range of 57-40k Hz whereas ES30 has a frequency range of 55-40k Hz. With a minimum frequency of 55Hz, the ES30 can go slightly deeper then the Monitor XT35's min frequency of 57Hz.

Impedance and Sensitivity
Monitor XT35 and ES30 have the same Impedance of 8 ohms but where they differ is the sensitivity levels. Monitor XT35 sensitivity is rated at 87 dB and the ES30's is at 89 dB. This 2 dB difference makes the Polk ES30 a more sensitive speaker compared to Polk XT35, hence will play louder with the same amount of watts.

Power
range is the range of input power in watts RMS that a loudspeaker is designed to handle. Staying
within that range gives nominal performance; driving the speaker beyond its maximum wattage can damage it.
Monitor XT35 can handle a max power of 200 watts RMS, whereas ES30 has a max power handling value of 125 watts RMS, 75 watts less than the Monitor XT35.
Note that higher power handling does not make a speaker louder: that depends mainly on

Monitor XT35 features 5-Way post type posts and ES30 has a 5-Way post type posts. None of these speakers feature bi-amping/bi-wiring.

Cabinet Type and Port Position
Both Monitor XT35 and ES30 have rear firing ports. Rear ported speakers generally need more room between the backside of the speaker and the wall compared to sealed and front/bottom ported speakers. Placing the speakers too close to the walls may cause the bass to sound boomy.

A Polk XT35 B Polk ES30
depends neither is better in the abstract - it turns on your room, your system or how you will use them. Only specs published for both speakers are judged; anything missing on either side is left out rather than guessed.
Which should you choose?
Neither runs away with it - they trade advantages. Let the "depends" rows and your own room settle it. In a large or open-plan room, Polk ES30 has the cabinet volume to fill it more easily; in a small room, near a wall or at desk distance, Polk XT35 is the easier speaker to get right. If your amplifier is modest, vintage or valve-based, Polk ES30 is the safer partner - the other will want more current or more watts to sound its best.
And remember what a spec sheet cannot show: how each looks in your room and whether the finish suits it, what dealer support and warranty are like where you live, and how they actually sound to you.
