One of the fundamental differences between these two speakers is that Masterpiece Focus ESL C18 is a 3-way design whereas the Masterpiece Impression ESL 11A is a 2-way speaker. 3-way designs utilize a midrange driver in addition to the tweeter and woofer on 2-way designs. Designing a crossover for a 3-way speaker is a complicated process and generally increases the overall cost of the speaker.

Masterpiece Focus ESL C18 features a 1" x 1-7/16"" Folded Motion Ribbon Tweeter, a 18" x 7-1/2"" Midrange and 2 x 6-1/2" Woofer. On the other hand, the Masterpiece Impression ESL 11A features a 11 x 44" E-ST Tweeter and 2 x 8" Woofer.

Masterpiece Focus ESL C18 has a frequency range of 50-23K Hz whereas Masterpiece Impression ESL 11A has a frequency range of 29-23k Hz. With a minimum frequency of 29Hz, the Masterpiece Impression ESL 11A can go significantly deeper on the low side and provide stronger bass compared to the Masterpiece Focus ESL C18's min frequency of 50Hz.

Masterpiece Focus ESL C18 and Masterpiece Impression ESL 11A have the same Impedance of 4 ohms but where they differ is the sensitivity levels. Masterpiece Focus ESL C18 sensitivity is rated at 90 dB and the Masterpiece Impression ESL 11A's is at 91 dB.
