Illusion ESL C34A features a " Folded Motion AMT Tweeter and 4 x 6.5" Aluminium Woofer with a Crossover frequency at 500, 2000 Hz. On the other hand, the Expression ESL 13A features a " Electrostatic panel Electrostatic Tweeter and 2 x 10" Aluminium Woofer with a Crossover frequency at 300Hz.
Frequency Response
Illusion ESL C34A has a frequency range of 45-23k Hz whereas Expression ESL 13A has a frequency range of 24-23k Hz. With a minimum frequency of 24Hz, the Expression ESL 13A can go significantly deeper on the low side and provide stronger bass compared to the Illusion ESL C34A's min frequency of 45Hz.

Impedance and Sensitivity
Illusion ESL C34A is a 6 ohms speaker compared to the Expression ESL 13A which has a nominal impedance of 4 ohms. Lower impedance speakers, especially the ones that are rated at 4 ohms may put more pressure on the amplifier unit especially when played at high volume levels, so make sure the amp you pair with the Expression ESL 13A can provide this impedance level.
These two speakers also have different sensitivity levels. Illusion ESL C34A sensitivity is rated at 90 dB and the Expression ESL 13A's is rated at 91 dB. This 1 dB difference makes the MartinLogan Expression ESL 13A a more sensitive speaker compared to MartinLogan Illusion ESL C34A, hence will play louder with the same amount of watts.

Power
range is the range of input power in watts RMS that a loudspeaker is designed to handle. Staying
within that range gives nominal performance; driving the speaker beyond its maximum wattage can damage it.
Illusion ESL C34A and Expression ESL 13A have the same power range of 20-600 watts.
Note that higher power handling does not make a speaker louder: that depends mainly on
