KLH Model Seven features a 1" Hard-Dome Tweeter , a 5" Midrange and 1 x 13" Pulp-Paper Woofer . On the other hand, the Model Five features a 1" aluminum Hard-Dome Tweeter , a 4" Midrange and 1 x 10" Pulp-Paper Woofer with a Crossover frequency at 380Hz and 2850Hz.
Frequency Response
KLH Model Seven has a frequency range of 38-20k Hz whereas Model Five has a frequency range of 42-20k Hz. With a minimum frequency of 38Hz, the KLH Model Seven can go slightly deeper then the Model Five's min frequency of 42Hz.

Impedance and Sensitivity
KLH Model Seven is a 4 ohms speaker compared to the Model Five which has a nominal impedance of 6 ohms. Lower impedance speakers, especially the ones that are rated at 4 ohms may put more pressure on the amplifier unit especially when played at high volume levels, so make sure the amp you pair with the KLH Model Seven can provide this impedance level.
These two speakers also have different sensitivity levels. KLH Model Seven sensitivity is rated at 91 dB and the Model Five's is rated at 90.5 dB.

Power
range is the range of input power in watts RMS that a loudspeaker is designed to handle. While using
an amplifier within this range ensures the nominal performance , inputting a power that is higher than the
max wattage can result in a damaged speaker.
KLH Model Seven can handle a max power of 250 watts RMS from the amp the whereas Model Five has a max power handling value of 200 watts RMS, 50 watts less than the KLH Model Seven.
Keep in mind that a higher max power handling value doesn't necessarily make that a louder speaker
compared to a lower max handling speaker. Loudness or the sound level is also impacted by parameters
such as Impedance, sensitivity and system efficiencies.
Input Type and Bi-Amping / Bi-Wiring
KLH Model Seven features Binding post type posts and Model Five has a Binding post type posts. None of these speakers feature bi-amping/bi-wiring.

Physical Specs
Size of a speaker can sometimes become an important decision factor due to space constraints or in some cases purely for esthetic reasons. In this section, we are going to compare KLH Model Seven's and KLH Model Five's external dimensions. KLH Model Seven has external dimensions of 1042.0 x 458.0 x 312.0mm ( 41inch x 18inch x 12-1/4inch ) whereas KLH Model Five has external dimensions of 660.0 x 350.0 x 292.0mm ( 34-1/4 x 13-3/4 x 13inch) .
