In this review, we will be comparing two different type of speakers by KEF. KEF LSX II LT is a Bookshelf speaker whereas the LS50C Meta is a Center Channel speaker.

LSX II LT features a 0.75" Aluminum Hard-Dome Tweeter and 1 x 4.5" Magnesium/Aluminium alloy Woofer . On the other hand, the LS50C Meta features a 1" Aluminum Vented dome Tweeter and 1 x 5.25" aluminum Woofer with a Crossover frequency at 2100Hz.
Frequency Response
LSX II LT has a frequency range of 54-28k Hz whereas LS50C Meta has a frequency range of 79-28k Hz. With a minimum frequency of 54Hz, the LSX II LT can go significantly deeper on the low side and provide stronger bass compared to the LS50C Meta's min frequency of 79Hz.

Cabinet Type and Port Position
Both LSX II LT and LS50C Meta have rear firing ports. Rear ported speakers generally need more room between the backside of the speaker and the wall compared to sealed and front/bottom ported speakers. Placing the speakers too close to the walls may cause the bass to sound boomy.

Size of a speaker can sometimes become an important decision factor due to space constraints or in some cases purely for esthetic reasons. In this section, we are going to compare KEF LSX II LT's and KEF LS50C Meta's external dimensions. KEF LSX II LT has external dimensions of 240 × 155 × 180 mm ( 9.5 × 6.1 × 7.1 inch) whereas KEF LS50C Meta has external dimensions of 301.0 x 201.0 x 281.0mm ( 11-13/16 x 7-7/8 x 11-1/16inch) .
KEF LS50C Meta is clearly the larger of the two speakers. Its body is 46mm wider, 61mm taller and 101mm deeper than KEF LSX II LT.

The base surface area of the KEF LSX II LT is approximately 279.0cm2 / 43.2inch2 and base area of the KEF LS50C Meta is approximately 564.8cm2 / 87.5inch2. The LSX II LT requires 51% less surface area than the LS50C Meta which gives it a small advantage on placement in tight spaces.
