Stage 250B features a 1" Hard-Dome Tweeter and 1 x 5.25" Polycellulose Woofer. On the other hand, the XT20 features a 1" Soft-Dome Tweeter and 1 x 6.5" Bi-laminate paper Woofer.
Frequency Response
Stage 250B has a frequency range of 55-25k Hz whereas XT20 has a frequency range of 38-40k Hz. With a minimum frequency of 38Hz, the XT20 can go significantly deeper on the low side and provide stronger bass compared to the Stage 250B's min frequency of 55Hz.

Impedance and Sensitivity
Stage 250B is a 6 ohms speaker compared to the XT20 which has a nominal impedance of 8 ohms.
These two speakers also have different sensitivity levels. Stage 250B sensitivity is rated at 86 dB and the XT20's is rated at 87 dB. This 1 dB difference makes the Polk XT20 a more sensitive speaker compared to JBL Stage 250B, hence will play louder with the same amount of watts.

Power
range is the range of input power in watts RMS that a loudspeaker is designed to handle. Staying
within that range gives nominal performance; driving the speaker beyond its maximum wattage can damage it.
XT20 can handle a max power of 200 watts RMS, whereas Stage 250B has a max power handling value of 150 watts RMS, 50 watts less than the XT20.
Note that higher power handling does not make a speaker louder: that depends mainly on

A JBL Stage 250B B Polk XT20
depends neither is better in the abstract - it turns on your room, your system or how you will use them. Only specs published for both speakers are judged; anything missing on either side is left out rather than guessed.
Which should you choose?
Polk XT20 is the easier recommendation: it leads on most of the measured areas and costs less. Take JBL Stage 250B if its size, looks or fit in your room suit you better. If a subwoofer is in your plans, the bass gap largely stops mattering - you would be crossing over above 55Hz anyway, so judge these on the other rows instead. Think about the whole system, not just the speakers: the roughly $100 saved by taking the cheaper pair would buy a subwoofer or a better amplifier, and either usually does more for the sound than the difference between these two.
