ProCenter 2000 features a 1" pure aluminum dome Tweeter and 2 x 5.25" BDSS Woofer. On the other hand, the ES30 features a 1" Terylene High-res dome Tweeter and 2 x 5.5" mica-reinforced polypropylene Dynamic Balance Woofer.
Frequency Response
ProCenter 2000 has a frequency range of 42-30k Hz whereas ES30 has a frequency range of 55-40k Hz. With a minimum frequency of 42Hz, the ProCenter 2000 can go significantly deeper on the low side and provide stronger bass compared to the ES30's min frequency of 55Hz.

Impedance and Sensitivity
ProCenter 2000 and ES30 have the same Impedance of 8 ohms but where they differ is the sensitivity levels. ProCenter 2000 sensitivity is rated at 91 dB and the ES30's is at 89 dB. This 2 dB difference makes the Definitive ProCenter 2000 a more sensitive speaker compared to Polk ES30, hence will play louder with the same amount of watts.

Power
range is the range of input power in watts RMS that a loudspeaker is designed to handle. Staying
within that range gives nominal performance; driving the speaker beyond its maximum wattage can damage it.
ProCenter 2000 can handle a max power of 250 watts RMS, whereas ES30 has a max power handling value of 125 watts RMS, 125 watts less than the ProCenter 2000.
Note that higher power handling does not make a speaker louder: that depends mainly on

Which should you choose?
Definitive ProCenter 2000 leads across most of the measured areas for a fairly modest premium, which makes it the easier pick if the budget stretches. Polk ES30 is the one to take if it does not. If a subwoofer is in your plans, the bass gap largely stops mattering - you would be crossing over above 55Hz anyway, which makes the cheaper Polk ES30 much easier to justify. Match it to your room: we rate Definitive ProCenter 2000 the better fit for a large room and a very large room, and Polk ES30 for a small room.
