Frequency Response

AE307 has a frequency range of 42Hz - 30kHz whereas AE300 has a frequency range of 45Hz - 30kHz. With a minimum frequency of 42Hz, the AE307 can go slightly deeper then the AE300's min frequency of 45Hz.

Power range is the range of input power in watts RMS that a loudspeaker is designed to handle. Staying within that range gives nominal performance; driving the speaker beyond its maximum wattage can damage it.

Cabinet Type and Port Position

Both AE307 and AE300 have rear firing ports. Rear ported speakers generally need more room between the backside of the speaker and the wall compared to sealed and front/bottom ported speakers. Placing the speakers too close to the walls may cause the bass to sound boomy.

AE307 is the easier recommendation: it leads on most of the measured areas and costs less. Take AE300 if its size, looks or fit in your room suit you better. Match it to your room: we rate AE307 the better fit for a mid-size room and a large room, and AE300 for near-field listening and a small room. In a large or open-plan room, AE307 has the cabinet volume to fill it more easily; in a small room, near a wall or at desk distance, AE300 is the easier speaker to get right.
