What size room are the ATC SCM7 and B&W 606 S2 speakers good for?

SCM7 features a 0.98" Tweeter and 1 x 4.92" Woofer with a Crossover frequency at 2.5kHz. On the other hand, the 606 S2 AE features a 1" Aluminum Decoupled Double Dome Tweeter and 1 x 6.5" Continuum Woofer.
Frequency Response
SCM7 has a frequency range of 60-22k Hz whereas 606 S2 AE has a frequency range of 52-28k Hz. With a minimum frequency of 52Hz, the 606 S2 AE can go significantly deeper on the low side and provide stronger bass compared to the SCM7's min frequency of 60Hz.

Impedance and Sensitivity
SCM7 and 606 S2 AE have the same Impedance of 8 ohms but where they differ is the sensitivity levels. SCM7 sensitivity is rated at 84 dB and the 606 S2 AE's is at 88 dB. This 4 dB difference makes the B&W 606 S2 a more sensitive speaker compared to ATC SCM7, hence will play louder with the same amount of watts.

Power
range is the range of input power in watts RMS that a loudspeaker is designed to handle. Staying
within that range gives nominal performance; driving the speaker beyond its maximum wattage can damage it.
606 S2 AE can handle a max power of 120 watts RMS, whereas SCM7 has a max power handling value of watts RMS, 120 watts less than the 606 S2 AE.
Note that higher power handling does not make a speaker louder: that depends mainly on

606 S2 AE features Binding post posts which make bi-amping or bi-wiring possible. SCM7 has a Binding Posts/4mm Plugs, bi-wire which doesn't feature bi-amping/bi-wiring.

The size of a speaker can sometimes be an important decision factor due to space constraints or in some cases purely for esthetic reasons. In this section, we are going to compare ATC SCM7's and B&W 606 S2's external dimensions. depends neither is better in the abstract - it turns on your room, placement or how you will use them.
Only specs published for both speakers are judged; anything missing on either side is left out rather than guessed.
Which should you choose?
B&W 606 S2 is the easier recommendation: it leads on most of the measured areas and costs less. Take ATC SCM7 if its size, looks or fit in your room suit you better. If a subwoofer is in your plans, the bass gap largely stops mattering - you would be crossing over above 60Hz anyway, so judge these on the other rows instead. Match it to your room: we rate ATC SCM7 the better fit for near-field listening and a small room, and B&W 606 S2 for a mid-size room and a large room.
