One of the fundamental differences between these two speakers is that CP-WT150 is a 2-way design whereas the W280-IDC is a 3-way speaker. 3-way designs utilize a midrange driver in addition to the tweeter and woofer on 2-way designs. Designing a crossover for a 3-way speaker is a complicated process and generally increases the overall cost of the speaker.

CP-WT150 features a 1" Hard-Dome Tweeter and 1 x 5" Poly Woofer . On the other hand, the W280-IDC features a 1" Hard-Dome Tweeter , a 4" Midrange and 1 x 8" C-CAM Woofer .
Frequency Response
CP-WT150 has a frequency range of 75-25kHz whereas W280-IDC has a frequency range of 45-30kHz. With a minimum frequency of 45Hz, the W280-IDC can go significantly deeper on the low side and provide stronger bass compared to the CP-WT150's min frequency of 75Hz.

Impedance and Sensitivity
CP-WT150 and W280-IDC have the same Impedance of 6 ohms but where they differ is the sensitivity levels. CP-WT150 sensitivity is rated at 85 dB and the W280-IDC's is at 90 dB. This 5 dB difference makes the Monitor Audio W280-IDC a more sensitive speaker compared to Monitor Audio CP-WT150, hence will play louder with the same amount of watts.

CP-WT150 can handle a max power of 120 watts RMS from the amp the whereas CP-WT150 has a max power handling value of 50 watts RMS , 70 watts less than the W280-IDC.
Keep in mind that a higher max power handling value doesn't necessarily make that a louder speaker
compared to a lower max handling speaker. Loudness or the sound level is also impacted by parameters
such as Impedance, sensitivity and system efficiencies.

CP-WT150 features Spring post type posts and W280-IDC has a Spring post type posts. None of these speakers feature bi-amping/bi-wiring.
