None of these speakers achieves full range experience which is commonly agreed as 20Hz-20kHz. In order to achieve lower lows / deeper bass, we recommend you pair these with a subwoofer. Visit our Powered Subwoofers section to find out more about the available options.

         Impedance and Sensitivity

Vestia No3 is a 8 ohms speaker compared to the Opticon 8 MK2 which has a nominal impedance of 4 ohms. Lower impedance speakers, especially the ones that are rated at 4 ohms may put more pressure on the amplifier unit especially when played at high volume levels, so make sure the amp you pair with the Opticon 8 MK2 can provide this impedance level.
These two speakers also have different sensitivity levels. Vestia No3 sensitivity is rated at 92 dB and the Opticon 8 MK2's is rated at 88 dB. This 4 dB difference makes the Focal Vestia No3 a more sensitive speaker compared to DALI Opticon 8 II, hence will play louder with the same amount of watts.

 Power Range
            Power
range is the range of input power in watts RMS that a loudspeaker is designed to handle. While using
an amplifier within this range ensures the nominal performance , inputting a power that is higher than the
max wattage can result in a damaged speaker.

Vestia No3 and Opticon 8 MK2 has the same power range of 40-300 watts.
Keep in mind that a higher max power handling value doesn't necessarily make that a louder speaker
compared to a lower max handling speaker. Loudness or the sound level is also impacted by parameters
such as Impedance, sensitivity and system efficiencies.

             Cabinet Type and Port Position

Vestia No3 has a front firing port whereas Opticon 8 MK2 has a rear firing ports. Focal Vestia No3's front-firing port gives more flexibility in placement in regards to proximity to walls compared to DALI Opticon 8 II with its rear-firing port.

Focal Vestia No3 has external dimensions of 1121.0 x 258.0 x 375.0mm ( 44-1/8-inch x 10-1/8-inch x 14-3/4-inch) whereas DALI Opticon 8 II has external dimensions of 1150.0 x 245.0 x 459.0mm ( 45-1/4 x 9-1/2 x 18-1/16inch) .
Focal Vestia No3 is 29mm shorter and 84mm less deeper than DALI Opticon 8 II but it is also 13mm wider.

        Base Surface Area Comparison
Base surface area of a loudspeaker may become a determining factor when the space in your room or desk is limited.
The base surface area of the Focal Vestia No3 is approximately 967.5cm2 / 150.0inch2 and base area of the DALI Opticon 8 II is approximately 1124.6cm2 / 174.3inch2. The Vestia No3 requires 14% less surface area than the Opticon 8 MK2 which gives it a small advantage on placement in tight spaces.
