In this review, we will be comparing two different type of speakers by Dynaudio. Dynaudio Focus 50 is a Floor-standing speaker whereas the Focus 10 is a Bookshelf speaker.

One of the fundamental differences between these two speakers is that Focus 50 is a 3-way design whereas the Focus 10 is a 2-way speaker. 3-way designs utilize a midrange driver in addition to the tweeter and woofer on 2-way designs. Designing a crossover for a 3-way speaker is a complicated process and generally increases the overall cost of the speaker.

Focus 50 features a 1.1" Cerotar Soft-Dome Tweeter , a 6" Midrange and 2 x 7" MSP Woofer with a Crossover frequency at 220 Hz - 2400 Hz. On the other hand, the Focus 10 features a 1.1" Cerotar Soft-Dome Tweeter and 1 x 5.5" MSP Woofer with a Crossover frequency at 2200 Hz.
Frequency Response
Focus 50 has a frequency range of 22-22k Hz whereas Focus 10 has a frequency range of 43-22k Hz. With a minimum frequency of 20Hz, the Focus 50 can go significantly deeper on the low side and provide stronger bass compared to the Focus 10's min frequency of 43Hz.

Size of a speaker can sometimes become an important decision factor due to space constraints or in some cases purely for esthetic reasons. In this section, we are going to compare Dynaudio Focus 50's and Dynaudio Focus 10's external dimensions. Dynaudio Focus 50 has external dimensions of 1140.0 x 215.0 x 305.0mm ( 44-7/8-inch x 8-1/2-inch x 12-inch) whereas Dynaudio Focus 10 has external dimensions of 315.0 x 180.0 x 261.0mm ( 12-3/8-inch x 7-1/8-inch x 10-1/4-inch) .
Dynaudio Focus 50 is clearly the larger of the two speakers. Its body is 35mm wider, 825mm taller and 44mm deeper than Dynaudio Focus 10.
Base Surface Area Comparison
Base surface area of a loudspeaker may become a determining factor when the space in your room or desk is limited.
The base surface area of the Dynaudio Focus 50 is approximately 655.8cm2 / 101.6inch2 and base area of the Dynaudio Focus 10 is approximately 469.8cm2 / 72.8inch2. The Focus 50 requires 40% more surface area than the Focus 10 which gives it a small disadvantage on placement in tight spaces.
