In this review, we will be comparing A700 and Elysian 4, two Floor-standing speakers from Buchardt and Wharfedale. The main difference between these two speakers is that the Buchardt A700 is a Powered speaker which means that it has a built-in amplifier inside the speaker body so you don't need an external power amp or an integrated amp whereas the Wharfedale Elysian 4 is a Passive speaker so has to be matched with an amplifier to get any sound from it. A700 features a 0.74" fine weave soft fabric textile aluminum waveguide Tweeter , a 6" Midrange and 4 x 6" paper Woofer with a Crossover frequency at 100-250Hz and 2800Hz. On the other hand, the Elysian 4 features a 27x90mm" AMT (Ribbon) Tweeter , a 6" Midrange and 2 x 8.5" Coated Fiberglass Woofer with a Crossover frequency at 340Hz and 3100Hz.
Frequency Response
A700 has a frequency range of 17-40k Hz whereas Elysian 4 has a frequency range of 30-22k Hz. With a minimum frequency of 17Hz, the A700 can go significantly deeper on the low side and provide stronger bass compared to the Elysian 4's min frequency of 30Hz.

In this section, we are going to compare Buchardt A700's and Wharfedale Elysian 4's external dimensions.
